How to Set Your Organization’s Output Language

Sky allows each organization to choose the primary Output Language — the language used when the AI generates summaries, classifications, reports, and conversation responses. This setting ensures that all AI-generated content appears in a consistent language that aligns with your team’s workflow, jurisdictional requirements, and client needs.

The walkthrough below explains not only how to change the Output Language, but also how this setting affects daily work, what limitations exist, and when administrators should consider updating it.

What the Output Language Controls

The Output Language determines the language Sky uses for:

  • AI-generated summaries
  • Document classifications and explanations
  • Chat responses
  • Rewritten or regenerated content done through AI tools

This setting does not translate existing PDFs or change the Sky user interface language. It applies exclusively to AI-generated output.

When You May Need to Change the Output Language

Organizations commonly update the Output Language in situations such as:

  • Working across multiple countries or jurisdictions
  • Preparing documentation for different linguistic requirements (for example, English for U.S. claims, French for Québec)
  • Standardizing AI-generated content across a multilingual team
  • Ensuring that summaries and classifications match the language used in legal, insurance, or clinical processes
  • Producing reports for clients or partners who operate in a specific language

Examples:

  • A Canadian insurance team may alternate between English (Canada) and Français (Canada) depending on the claimant.
  • A European legal team may use English (UK) for consistent terminology.
  • International organizations may switch languages per project or per export.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Settings

Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the screen and select Settings from the dropdown.

This opens your workspace configuration panel.

Step 2: Go to Organization Settings

In the left-hand sidebar, click Organization to access global workspace preferences such as language and localization.

Step 3: Choose Output Language

Open the Output Language dropdown and select the language you want Sky to use for all AI-generated content, including:

  • Document summaries
  • Classifications
  • Report text
  • Chat responses

Sky immediately displays all available language options supported by your account.

Step 4: Save the New Language

Click Update to save your changes. The selected language will now be used across your organization for all generated content.

How Changing the Output Language Affects Your Workflow

After updating the Output Language:

  • All newly generated AI content will appear in the selected language.
  • Existing summaries and notes will not update automatically.
  • Re-running summaries or generating new insights will produce content in the new language.
  • Classification labels remain the same, but classification explanations change to the new language.
  • Chat responses automatically switch to the new output language.

If your team works in multiple languages, it may be helpful to communicate any language changes before regenerating summaries or reviewing documents.

Important Considerations

  1. Changing the Output Language does not translate existing documents.

Uploaded PDFs or images remain unchanged, as Sky does not alter source files.

  2. Existing summaries must be regenerated to appear in the new language.

Sky does not retroactively rewrite previously generated content.

  3. Output Language is organization-level, not user-specific.

Individual users cannot set different output languages.

  4. Some industries require specific regional terminology.

For example, medical and legal professionals in Canada may use region-specific English or French variants.

  5. Output Language affects all AI tools simultaneously.

Summaries, chat, classifications, and structured fields will all use the language you select.

Recommendations for Multilingual Teams

If your organization handles cases in multiple languages:

  • Test new summaries in a sample case before applying changes broadly.
  • Regenerate summaries selectively when needed.
  • Communicate expected output language to case managers and reviewers.
  • Align your Output Language setting with report templates, case requirements, and jurisdictional standards.

Summary

Updating the Output Language allows your organization to control the language used for all AI-generated outputs in Sky. This ensures consistency, improves clarity, and supports multilingual workflows.

To update the setting:

  1. Click your avatar and open Settings;
  2. Navigate to Organization;
  3. Select the desired Output Language;
