(Admins Only) Roles and Permissions in Sky AI

Understanding User Roles and Permissions in Sky AI (Admin Focus)

This article outlines the different user roles within Sky AI and their associated permissions. Understanding these roles is crucial for managing your team and ensuring appropriate access levels.

Common Roles in Sky AI

Sky AI utilizes a role-based access control system. The most common roles are:

  • Owner/Admin: Has the highest level of access and control.
  • Member: Has standard access for day-to-day use.
  • Viewer/Guest: Has limited, read-only access (if enabled).

Owner/Admin Capabilities

Owners/Admins have comprehensive control over the Sky AI organization. Their capabilities include:

  • Managing Team Members: Inviting new users, removing existing users, and modifying user roles. (See: Managing Your Sky AI Organization: Team & Usage)
  • Accessing Billing Information: Viewing and managing subscription details and billing history.
  • Global Category Management: Creating, editing, and deleting categories used by Sky AI to sort documents within the Settings.
  • (Potentially) Archiving/Deleting Cases: Permanently removing cases and associated data.

Member Capabilities

Members have the necessary permissions to effectively use Sky AI for their daily tasks:

  • Creating and Managing Cases: Initiating new cases and managing existing ones.
  • Uploading and Organizing Documents: Adding and organizing documents within cases.
  • Using AI Analysis Features: Accessing and utilizing all AI-powered features such as Launch Sky and Chat.
  • (Typically) Cannot Manage Team or Billing: Members generally lack the permissions to manage users or access billing information.

(COMING SOON) Viewer/Guest Capabilities

Viewers/Guests (if enabled) have restricted access, primarily for observation and review:

  • Read-Only Access: Access to view cases and documents.
  • Limited Interaction with AI Features: May have restricted access to AI analysis tools.

How to Check Your Own Role

Your current role is typically displayed in the account settings or user profile section of the Sky AI application. Look for a label indicating your role (e.g., "Admin," "Member," "Viewer") next to your name or within your account details.

Who to Contact if You Need Different Permissions

If you require a different level of access than your current role provides, contact your Sky AI administrator or organization owner. They can assess your needs and adjust your permissions accordingly.
