The Edit Case Dialog and Its Importance

The "Edit Case" dialog in Sky allows you to modify key details associated with a specific case. Accurately populating these fields is crucial, as it enhances Sky AI's analytical capabilities and improves your overall case organization.

Accessing the "Edit Case" Dialog

You can access the "Edit Case" dialog in a couple of ways:

  • From the case document list view: Look for the "Edit Case" link, typically located near the case title and other case information.
  • Directly after case creation: In some workflows, you may be prompted to edit case details immediately after creating a new case.

Case Name

  • Importance: The case name is your primary means of identifying and searching for specific cases within Sky.
  • Best Practices: Use clear, descriptive names that reflect the case's subject matter. For example, instead of "Case 1," use "Smith Injury Claim" or "Jones Contract Dispute."

Date of Birth

  • Importance: The date of birth is a crucial data point for Sky AI's analysis. It allows the AI to consider age-related factors, establish a timeline context, and identify potential patterns. For example, in medical cases, age can influence the relevance of certain medical records.
  • Correct Format: Use the format MM/DD/YYYY (e.g., 11/11/2011).

Date of Loss

  • Importance: The date of loss is significant for structuring timelines and distinguishing between pre- and post-incident information. This is especially important for understanding the sequence of events and identifying relevant documents.
  • Correct Format: Use the format MM/DD/YYYY (e.g., 01/15/2024). If the date of loss is unknown, you may see a "-" symbol, indicating missing data. Update this field as soon as the information becomes available.

Claim or Case

  • Importance: The claim or case number is essential for internal tracking and linking the case to external systems or records.
  • Sky AI Usage: Sky AI may use this number for grouping related documents or identifying the case across different data sources.

Saving Your Changes

After entering or modifying the case details, be sure to save your changes. Look for a "Save" or "Update" button within the "Edit Case" dialog.

Impact of Editing Case Details on Existing AI Analysis

It is important to understand how editing case details affects any existing AI analysis. Depending on the system configuration, Sky AI may or may not automatically re-analyze the case after changes are saved. Consult the Sky documentation or your system administrator to determine if a manual re-analysis is required to incorporate the updated case details.
